Apprentice PC assaulted by CI hospitalised

An apprentice Police Constable attached to the Colombo City Traffic Police who was assaulted by a Chief Inspector was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, on Wednesday (8) evening.

This officer had been assaulted when he went to appear for the English and first aid practical test held at the Police water sports complex in Narahenpita regarding the confirmation of the service of apprentice Police Constables. The Narahenpita Police said that no reason has been revealed for this assault and an investigation is underway to uncover it.

This apprentice PC was attached to the Cinnamon Gardens Police on special duty.
