Arabian Travel Market opens in Dubai

The 29th edition of the Middle East’s largest travel and tourism exhibition Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022 opened yesterday and will go on until May 12,

The event takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre with representation from 112 countries, this year’s event is more than 85% larger than ATM 2021 in terms of floor space, with growth in every single region.

Over 25 Sri Lanka companies are participating in this event this year. ATM 2022 will focus on the future of international travel and tourism and the likely challenges and the benefits. Technology, sustainability, education and training, as well as equity in health, education, and economic opportunity will reportedly be at the top of the agenda.

ATM 2022 features 1,500 exhibitors, representatives from 158 global destinations, and an anticipated 20,000 attendees. The live show will be followed by ATM Virtual, which will run from May 17-18. Covid-19 has dominated our lives since March 2020 and continues to do so in many parts of the world. However, although international travel and tourism has learnt from past experiences and adapted in some cases almost seamlessly, we now have an ideal opportunity to look ahead to the future of our industry,“ said Danielle Curtis, exhibition director ME, Arabian Travel Market.
