Army donates stationary packs to students in Puththur

Madihe Pannaseeha Sinhala and Hindu Mixed School in Jaffna was established in 1967 under the patronage of Most Venerable Madihe Pannaseeha Mahathera in order to create a learning platform for the underprivileged students in Puththur.

At the inception, there were classes from grade one to eleven comprising of 160 students. Due to war, strength of the students of school has run down to 45. Today was a significant day for all Children of Madihe Pannaseeha School as they received much needed stationery packs from the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

In response to a request made by Commander 522 Infantry Brigade, donors from Wariyapola area, Ven Wadugedara Sarananda Thero, Mr. Manjula Darmasena, Mr. Suresh Chandrapala from Supreme Garments, Biyagama and 98 batch of Musaeus College Past Pupils Association, Colombo sponsored these stationery packs containing all essentials worth of Rs.3500.00 each.

The ceremony was graced by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu as the Chief Guest together with General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division Brigadier Chandana Wickramasighe RWP RSP ndu psc.

The principal and teachers of Madihe Pannaseeha Sinhala and Hindu Mixed School, government officials and army officers were also present at the occasion.
