Arrested with 1,200 smuggled cigarettes

A person was arrested by the Special Task Force, Jaffna camp, in possession of 1,200 cigarettes which were illegally imported to Sri Lanka without paying duty.

The arrested was a 24-year-old resident of Karainagar.

The suspect along with his mobile phone was handed over to the Jaffna Police station for further investigations.

This person was arrested after a raid conducted in Jaffna Police Division on Saturday (4) according to a tip off received by STF officers.
