Ashen Rodrigo does Piliyandala Central proud

Fourth year player All rounder, Left hand top order batsman, Right arm off spinner and Captain of the first eleven Cricket team for the 2022/23 first eleven team Lokuge Ashen Rodrigo has brought honour and glory for his alma mater Piliyandala Central College with his deeds in the field of cricket

Ashen who hails from Wewala Piliyandala was born on 19th May 2004 and initially admitted to Somaweera Chandrasiri Vidyalaya in 2010 when Mr.Weerasinghe was at the helm of the school and after passing the year five scholarship exam with flying colours he was drafted to Central College Piliyandala in 2015 and in the same year his Parents Lasantha Rodrigo and DisnaKumari Rodrigo handed him over to the under 13 Coach Bimal Amerasinghe and the Master in Charge was Nadun Liyanage and Prefect of Games was Ashley Karunaratne and in his first year in six outings they came to the second round and in the following year he performed well and in his final year leading the team they came up to second round.

His first year in the under 15 was in 2018 and he scored 480 runs with five fifties and he was selected to play for the Prima Cup and also selected to play for their Big Match against their arch rivals Taxila Central Horana and in 2019/20 season he passed the 400 run mark and played for the Big Match and Limited over match and got two fifties respectively. Then in 2020/21 season he played for the Limited over tournament and got over 300 runs with two fifties which included two fifties and his present coach is former Cambrian Eranga Gunaratne. Last year playing in five matches in the Limited over tournament he scored 230 runs with two fifties and this year he is capturing the team and the Big Match and the Limited Over Games are schedule to play on June 10th, 11th and 12th and his MIC is AnuraLiyanage and POG is Miss Nadee and the Principal is DarshanaUdawatte.
