Asoka Bandara heads Weightlifting Federation

Former National champion Asoka Bandara was elected President of the. Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation at the election which was conducted via Zoom technology last Tuesday.

Bandara the four times National champion and South Asian Games silver medalist represented Polonnaruwa Weightlifting Association received 51 votes while his opponent H.A Priyantha couldn’t get a single vote .

Meanwhile Nishantha Ghanaprakasham was elected Secretary and Chamindra Ratnayake as Assistant Secretary post (uncontested )

Secretary – Nishantha Ghanaprakasham, Vice Presidents – K. A Kumaradasa,A K. U. P. S Kumara ,W.A Thamel, H.Y.S Rupasena, K.C Silva Assistant Secretary– Chamindra Ratnayake, Treasurer – A.S.D.N Anuruddha.
