School under 12, 18 and 20 Athletic Champion, School representative at the John Tarbet Meet on three occasions and School Best Athlete Minuli Umeshi de Alwis has brought honour and immense glory to her alma mater Dhammissara Maha Vidyalaya, Nattandiya with her deeds in the field of athletics.
Minuli who hails from Horagolla, Nattandiya was born on January 11 2003 and admitted to her present school in 2008 and when she was in grade six her parents Nihal de Alwis and Nelka Sriyankanthi Femando encouraged her to take up to athletics and came under Nandana Tissera and her first attempt was at the school inter house sports meet and her first attempt was in 2013 and came first in High Jump, Second in 25 metres third in Long Jump and 4×100 relay respectively and participating at the Provincial meet she got a Merit Certificates. Then in the following inter house meet she won the High Jump and 200 metre events and came third in the 4×100 metre relay and was adjudged as the under 12 champion At the Divisional meet she came first in 100 metres and second in 75 metres and at the 2016 Divisional meet she got the third place for High Jump and came first in the 4×100 relay event and at the Zonal meet she won the High Jump event and in the Provincial meet she got a Merit for High Jump.
Then in the 2017 school meet she came third in High Jump and Long Jump respectively and won the 4×100 event and at the Divisional meet she came second and in 2018 school meet she won the High Jump and Long Jump events and in 2019 inter house meet she won the Long Jump, High Jump and 4×100 and she was the under 18 school champion and at the Divisional she came second in High Jump and first in 4×100 relay event and at the Zonal they came third in 4×100
At the 2020 school meet she won the High Jump, Triple Jump and Hurdle events and was the under 20 champion and carried away the Best athlete award and at Divisional too she won the Triple and High Jump events. Same year representing the school at the Puttalam District National Sports Festival Open Meet she came third in 4×100, High Jump and 4×400 events and Provincial open meet at the under 20 event she came third in High Jump and Long Jump and won the 4×100 and 4×400 relay event and her team mates were Chamathka Nethmini, Maleesha de Alwis and Sandali Mihisarani and at the 2022 Ministry of Youth Sports Open Meet she came second in High Jump and in 4×100 and 4×400 events and her Coach is Jude Chintaka and presently she is preparing for the forth coming All Island Schools Meet.
