Australia to tour Sri Lanka for full cricket series

Australia’s National Men’s Team will arrive in Sri Lanka to play an all format cricket series which will commence from June 7 to July 12. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday confirmed this cricket series which comprises three T-20’s, 5 ODI’s and 2 Test matches. The tour starts with the T20I series and will be followed by the ODI and the Test Series, respectively.

The T-20 matches will be played June 7 and 8 at the R. Premadasa Stadium while the third T-20 scheduled to be played on Pallekele Stadium (all night matches will commence from 7 pm) on June 11. The first two ODI’S will be played at Pallekele on June 14 and 16 and teams will come back to Colombo for the 3, 4, 5th ODI’s which will be played at R. Premadasa Stadium on June 19, 21, and 24 (all ODI’s day-night matches will commence at 2.30 pm), The series concludes with two test matches both scheduled to be played at Galle International Stadium (1st Test from June 29 to July 3rd and 2nd test from July 8 to 12.

SLC CEO Ashley de Silva said “We are in for some exciting cricket, especially considering that an Australian tour to Sri Lanka is taking place after five years, since last time they toured Sri Lanka.

“The T20 Series will help our preparations for the T20i World Cup, while the Test and ODI segments are also competitions of immense value for us, as we aim to move through the ICC World Test Championship rankings and also gearing up for the ICC Men’s World Cup in 2023.
