Avail monthly stipend to overcome unemployment, Deputy Speaker to Youth
Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa requests the youth community to take full advantage of the programme to become entitled to a monthly income in the absence of formal employment.
Mr Rajapaksa said the programme is to be implemented islandwide and Parliament will provide maximum support for it. The Deputy Speaker requested the youth community to make the most of it.
Deputy Speaker stated this when the Sri Lanka Youth Circle Organisation Chairman Maheen Dissanayaka, its advisor and Sanasa Bank’s Society Development Head Thusitha Weerawardena met with him recently at his office in Parliament. The program is to be implemented with the aim of educating young people in the age group of 18-30 years, with various creative abilities including culture, art, sports, and become eligible for a monthly income.
A special feature of this programme is that these young people will be directed towards various vocational training, besides being taught various languages including Korean, Japanese and other educational activities.
