Azath Salley further remanded

Former Governor of the Western Province and the leader of the National Unity Front Azath Salley, who was arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks has been further remanded till September 14 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana De Silva.

Azath Salley was arrested and detained for questioning on the advice of the Attorney General under the provisions of Prevention of Terrorism Act,Penal Code and the International Convenant on Civil and Political Rights.

He was arrested by the CID on the 16th of March over a controversial statement he made related to the Easter Sunday attacks.
