Babar Azam hits ton against New Zealand

Skipper Babar Azam hit an unbeaten century as Pakistan reached 224 for four at tea on the opening day of the first Test against New Zealand in Karachi yesterday.

The 28-year-old right-hand middle order batsman remained unbeaten on 119 at the break having struck eleven boundaries and one six during his stay at the crease after Pakistan had elected to bat first. Azam has so far put on 114 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket along with wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was unbeaten on 43 with seven boundaries.
