Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara told Daily News that the body of Sujith Bandara Yatawara, who lost his life due to the ongoing war conflicts in the Gaza Strip, was handed over to the relevant airline to be sent to Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Ambassador said that on Monday (6), after receiving the body of Yatawara by the Sri Lankan Embassy, religious rites were performed paying last respects to him yesterday (7) at around 5.30 pm Sri Lanka time. Ambassador Bandara said that after paying the last respects to Yatawara, his body had been handed over to the airline.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka Embassy officials together with Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara and a group of Sri Lankans living in Israel made their way to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel to pay their last respects to Sujith Bandara Yatawara.
