The Bhutan under-17 Football team was first to arrive in the Island to participate in the South Asian Football Federation -SAFF – U17 Football Championship 2022, to be staged in Colombo commencing later this week.
With an initiative made by Football Sri Lanka (FSL) President Jaswar Umar, Sri Lanka got the nod to host this tournamnet in Colombo. Six teams including host Sri Lanka, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives and Bangladesh will be in the fray for honours. All matches are scheduled to be played at the picturesque Race Course Stadium and two matches will kick off each day from 3.30 p.m. onwards. The inauguration of this tournament will be on September 5 and the geand final is scheduled to be held on September 14 at the same venue.
