‘Bloemendhal Pathum’ arrested with hand grenade

A team of officers from the Bloemendhal Police on Sunday arrested Milan Anjana alias ‘Bloemendhal Pathum’ together with a hand grenade in his possession. He is a powerful member of an underworld gang operating in Mattakkuliya and Bloemendhal with a hand grenade.

The Bloemendhal Police said that ‘Bloemendhal Pathum’ was arrested near the old garbage dump in Bloemendhal.

This underworld criminal, who is a resident of Sirisandah Sevana apartment complex in Kotahena is also allegedly involved in drug trafficking. He was also arrested by the Police Special Task Force for being involved in several recent shootings in Colombo. He is also connected to a shooting during a 2015 General Election political campaign rally held in Kotahena and he was arrested at that time too with a firearm and 10 grams of heroin.
