BOC hosts ‘Spirit Awards 2022’ recognising highest performing branches

The Bank of Ceylon ‘Spirit Awards 2022’ the annual ceremony, recognizing highest performing branches and departments for their value added contribution towards the bank, took place recently at Shangri-La Colombo with the participation of the bank’s Chairman Ronald C. Perera, the General Manager/CEO Russel Fonseka and bank staff members.

The event recognized the island’s ‘Best BOC Branches’ who were the best performers, ‘5 S Awards’ and ‘Sashreeka Gewaththa’ (Best resident garden) for the year 2022. The event was organized by the Branch Operation Department headed by the DGM Branch Operations Priyal Silva. A total of forty six awards have been distributed among category winners including winners of the grand finale. ‘BOC Madurankuliya’ branch became the winner of the ‘Best Branch Award’ among 653 branches of the bank

“This event is one the most important events in our annual calendar. We have ensured to continuously conduct this event even during challenging times such as Covid pandemic, taking on novel approaches such as an event on digital mode.

Recognizing achievements of our members and maintaining staff motivation is of utmost importance to us. I wish to thank my organizing team including the judging panel who assisted to categorically select winners whilst congratulating all the winners at the ceremony” stated DGM Branch Operations Priyal Silva.

This event is a part of motivating staff members to strive to provide an excellent customer service at branch and province level and recognize the hardship they may had to face in the process. The bank considers that dedication and commitment of the staff has been an important aspect of the bank’s success for over 84 year and wishes to appreciate all members of staff therein.
