Bolling, Martenstyn in CID over July 9 gathering

Businessman Jonathan Martenstyn and swimming champion Julian Bolling who were summoned to the CID yesterday were grilled for over seven hours as part of investigations in progress over the intrusion and arson attack of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s residence in Fifth Lane Colombo 3.

This incident took place when the President was the Prime Minister of the country on July 9, 2022. They had been questioned about organizing a protest by gathering crowds opposite the President’s private residence.

They arrived at the CID at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Eight persons have been arrested in connection with this incident and the CID has identified 34 persons who were involved in the arson attack
