Bourse continues declining trend yesterday

Colombo bourse witnessed a declining trend yesterday with the Governor stated that the CBSL would look to maintain policy rates at the current level and also presented Forex Reserves and Regulations and the need of the need the political stability.

Thus, The All-Share Price Index decreased by 243.4 points (-2.9%) to close at 8,173.9 whilst S&P SL20 Index also declined by 19.8 points (-3.3%) to close at 2,703.7. Expolanka Holdings, Royal Ceramics, LOLC Holdings Commercial Bank and Hayleys remained as the top negative contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 1,597.2 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,674.9 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 69,203.9k against the 12-month average daily volume of 225,734.6k. Capital Goods, Food & Beverage and Transportation mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
