Bourse continues declining trend

Colombo bourse continued the declining trend yesterday due to the negative sentiments surrounding. Thus, The All-Share Price Index decreased by 123.2 points (-1.5%) to close at 8,108.1 whilst S&P SL20 Index also declined by 39.8 points (- 1.5%) to close at 2,679.3. LOLC Holdings, Expolanka Holdings, Sampath Bank, Browns Investments and DFCC Bank remained as the top negative contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 1,622.6 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,662.7 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 105,310.9k against the 12-month average daily volume of 225,764.6k. Capital Goods, Banks and Transportation mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
