Bourse remains in green
Colombo bourse remained in the green territory amidst heavy foreign buying and local investor interest on large cap stocks.
Thus, All-Share Price Index increased by 49.9 points (+0.5%) to close at 9,366.4 for the day whilst S&P SL20 Index also gained by 20.9 points (+0.7%) to close at 3,030.6. LOLC Finance, LOLC Holdings, Dialog Axiata, Lanka IOC, Lanka IOC and Aitken Spence and Cargills Ceylon remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day.
Further, the broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 4,136.0 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs.4,443.2 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 203,397.7k against the 12-month average daily volume of 211,310.9k. Capital Goods and Diversified Financials mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.
The top turnover generators for yesterday were Expolanka Holdings Rs. 846.6 mn (+0.6%), LOLC Finance Rs. 646.4 mn (+19.1%), Lanka IOC Rs.574.0 mn (+2.5%), Browns Investments Rs. 257.2 mn (+0.0%) and Agstar Rs. 116.7 mn (+7.3%). Foreigners recorded a net inflow of Rs. 647.9 mn yesterday. Foreign purchases stood at Rs. 709.1 mn whilst total foreign sales amounted to Rs.61.2 mn. Top foreign buying counters EXPO LKR. 594.7 mn, MELS LKR. 51.4 mn, CFIN LKR. 9.8 mn, CIC LKR. 8.3 mn, BALA LKR. 2.8 mn and BIL LKR. 2.5 mn whilst top foreign selling counters were LOFC LKR. (8.1) mn CFLB LKR. (5.8) mn, CCS LKR. (4.0) mn, SUN LKR. (3.0) mn, LHCL LKR. (2.8) mn and LGIL LKR. (1.7) mn.
