Britisher carrying revolver, bullets held at BIA

Katunayake Airport Police arrested a UK resident who was to leave for England with an illegally possessed revolver, 10 live bullets, a Rambo knife and five dead bullets on the afternoon of December 22.

Carrying such firearms and knives by air is prohibited activity and if it is necessary to carry such firearms, the legal permission of the Sri Lanka Civil Aviation Authority should be obtained.

The arrested person is Parker Robert Michael, a 54-year-old British national who arrived at Katunayake Airport on December 22 at 12.55 p.m to leave on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight scheduled to depart for England’s Heathrow Airport.
