Buddhist Affairs Dept. to upload standard version of Tripitaka on website

Somaratne Vidanapathirana, Secretary to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs said that a standard version (correct) of the Tripitaka will soon be available through the website of the Department of Buddhist Affairs. The Secretary said that the Tripitaka has been released online by various organizations and institutions and Buddhist leaders have informed the Ministry that there are deficiencies in those versions.

The current standard Tripitaka is the Sambuddha Jayanthi Tripitaka. Accordingly, the Secretary said that a correct version of the Tripitaka will be posted in the website of the Department of Buddhist Affairs within the next six months.
