Build SL Housing, Construction Industry Expo opens at BMICH
The 17th annual Housing, Construction Industry Exhibition hosted by Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka which was founded in 2001 opened at BMICH yesterday and concludes on March 20. Associated Newspapers of Ceylon (Lake House) remains the print media sponsor.
In his welcome address the Secretary General of Chamber, Secretary General /CEO, Eng. Nissanka N. Wijeratne showed escalation in costs of building materials by as much as 75% and the turbulent times faced by the Industry.
The President of the Chamber spoke of the vital need to quickly take in the Industry forward to service the economy and to address lackadaisical attitudes and bring about transparency in government procurement and procedures and use the industry as a catalyst for growth to kick start the economy.
Build Sri Lanka 2022 showcases the latest developments in the building and construction industry, with eminent industry experts, stakeholders and decision makers in attendance, making it an ideal event to source new products, network and usher in new contacts and business opportunities.
The exhibition was opened yesterday by Ali Sabry, Minister of Justice accompanied by Indika Anuruddha, State Minister of Rural Housing and Construction & Building Materials Industries Promotion.
