Businessman’s body brought from Jakarta after seven months

The remains of the 45-year-old Sri Lankan businessman Onesh Subasinghe, Managing Director of Onex Holdings, who was murdered in an apartment in Jakarta earlier this year, was brought to Sri Lanka on Tuesday after seven months, Police said. Subasinghe, was on vacation in Jakarta, Indonesia with his Brazilian wife, her assistant and their four-year-old daughter. In early February, 2023, Subasinghe was found dead under mysterious circumstances in an apartment in Jakarta.

Following his death, his wife and her assistant had left the apartment with Onesh’s daughter and later had fled to Brazil.

The Police are still investigating the murder. Subasinghe’s body has been taken to the Negombo General Hospital.
