Businessman’s death: Wife, employee remanded

The wife of a popular businessman and an employee have been arrested over the death of the businessman in Negombo under mysterious circumstances, the Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said.

He further said the suspects were arrested following an investigation carried out into the death reported on October 3, 2020.

The wife of the deceased businessman and one of the employees of the company have been arrested by the Police under suspicion in connection with the death.

“The Police received information about the death and accordingly the Negombo Police initiated an investigation.

The suspects have been remanded until June 30 by the Negombo Magistrate’s Court and Police will be seeking an order to exhume the body of the deceased for further investigations,” the Senior DIG added.
