Canowin Hotels and Spas pays dividends for 2020 and 2021

Canowin Hotels and Spas Pvt Ltd has paid a dividend of 10% of its net profit to the tune of Rs 9.6 million for 2020 and 2021 to its parent company Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) on September 11, 2022.

In addition, unpaid dividends of Rs 9.5 million for the years 2018 and 2019 was also paid on March 25, 2022. Canowin Hotels and Spas Pvt Ltd. is a fully owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd which is under the purview of the Ministry of Finance.

“The new Board of Directors was appointed in 2020, and within a short period of time we had to encounter the pandemic, the Covid 19. Therefore, we had to be strategically reformed and to re-organize our business to establish the financial stability of the organization and meet the dynamic customer expectations. In addition to this, salary increments and bonuses were also given for the welfare of employees during this period. Furthermore, considering the current economic crisis, sufficient allowances are also given to our valuable employees. We could pay a dividend to our mother company as well,”Nishantha Dayananda, Chairman, Canowin Hotels and Spas Pvt Ltd said.

Canowin Arcade commenced its operations in 2012 and maintains security services, janitorial services, waste management, fuel supply, car charging point, energy efficient lighting solutions, proposed solar power generations and energy management services to enhance the brand image of Sri Lanka’s first ever green rest Area and pave the way to future rest area projects.Canowin Hotels and Spas (Pvt) Ltd has 46 shops which are rented out to both international and local tenants.
