Car arranged for ‘Harak Kata’ to escape from CID

A senior Police officer said that information has been received regarding a car that had been prepared to help drug trafficker and organized criminal Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne alias ‘Harak Kata’ in his escape bid from the Criminal Investigation Department. The officer said that the Police was confident that they will be able to take the car into custody soon.

‘Harak Kata’ fought with a sub-inspector of the Special Task Force who was guarding him and tried to escape by snatching his firearm on September 10 while being detained on the fourth floor of the Criminal Investigation Department.

There, the Sub-Inspector with the help of other officers had prevented it with great effort.
