Case against Hirunika and 15 others postponed

The case filed against 15 individuals including former Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra was postponed till June 5 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis yesterday.

Cinnamon Garden Police arrested the 15 individuals including former UNP Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra, while they were staging a protest near the Cinnamon Garden Police on November 14. Attorney-at-Law Rajitha Lakmal appearing for the suspects informed the Magistrate that since police has not yet filed a charge sheet, the case cannot be proceeded and there is a possibility of withdrawing the case,”

Therefore, the Magistrate fixed further inquiries for June 5.
