Cashier’s passport suspended over theft

Panadura Acting Magistrate Lahiru De Silva suspended the passport of S.Madushanka, the Chief Cashier of the Southern Expressway’s Gelanigama Exit over the theft of Rs 1.4 million from the cash safe.

The Police informed the Court on Monday that the suspect, who had allegedly stolen Rs 1.4 million from the cash safe, has been missing since last Saturday (11).

Following the report submitted by Bandaragama Police, Court ordered to suspend the suspect’s passport and directed Police to forward the order to the head of the Emigration and Immigration Department of the Bandaranaike International Airport. Sergeant Samanlal Edirisinghe represented Bandaragama Police.

The Police have sought the assistance of the public to arrest the suspect regarding this theft.
