CCD to probe how ‘Ratta’ got Rs.5 mn to account
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has begun an investigation regarding the crediting of Rs. 5 million to the bank account of Rathindu Senaratne alias Ratta, a front-line activist of the ‘struggle’ (Aragalaya).
That is according to a notification given by the Police Headquarters to the Criminal Investigation Department. Senaratne was brought to Colombo Crimes Division and his complaint has been recorded on Monday. The Colombo Crimes Division states that he had not filed a complaint with the police about it until then.
This amount has been credited to an account of a private bank branch in Ja-Ela belonging to Senaratne. Police say that this amount has been credited to his bank account from another private bank branch.
The Colombo Crime Division reported the facts to Court in this regard yesterday (16).
The Colombo Crimes Division stated that it will be possible to check who credited this amount to his bank account from the bank branch where the money was credited and security camera footage will also be used for that purpose.
