Due to inclement weather, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has recorded over 61,000 electricity breakdown complaints, resulting in power outages for over 467,500 consumers during the last six days starting from May 21 to yesterday (26).
Of those breakdowns, more than 26,700 breakdowns have been cleared and power supply has been restored for about 425,500 consumers as of 2 pm yesterday.
The CEB management and service staff are working around the clock to restore power to all affected consumers.
However CEB sources said that these numbers are fluctuating due to the continuous receipt of new breakdown complaints.
