Third year all round cricketer, Right hand middle order bat, Right arm off spinner, Captain of the first eleven team 2021/22, Safe fielder in any position and Captain of the Division Two Tier ‘B’ Champions Team and Athlete Karandana Lekamlage Chamath Anjana Jayalath has brought honour and glory for his alma mater Taxila Central College with his deeds in the sports field.

Anjana who hails from Karandana Eheliyagoda was born on 30 th January 2004 and he was admitted to Karandara Junior School in 2010.

Whilst in this school he commenced athletics in 2012 and up to 2014 he did 100 and

200 metres and swept the Board for three consecutive years. In 2014 he passed the Grade Five Scholarship Exam with flying colours and was admitted to Taxila Central College in 2015. There too he participated in the inter house sports meets and did athletics up to 2019 and won places and in his last year their relay team taking part in 4×100 metres they won at the Divisional, Zonal, and District level.

Though he did athletics his forte is Cricket and coming across his talents and keenness in cricket his parents Jinasena Jayalath and Pathma Liyayarachchi handed over him to the school under 13 Coach Kamal Sanjana and got selected to the team and fared well and in the following year he captained the team and he was a unanimous choice for the under 15 team and in his second year he captained the team and scored 192 runs with a century and in five matches he grabbed eleven wickets.

. He was selected to the first eleven team in 2020/21 and played in the Schools Limited Over Tournament and participated in six matches. This year playing in the Limited Over Tournament and he was the Captain of the Team and his Deputy is Deshan Dilmith and participated in the All Island Division Two Tournament Tier ‘B’ and they were the Champions. This year leading the Big Match and the One Dayer they lost in these both formats to their arch rivals Piliyandala Central College.
