Former Sri Lanka cricketer Charith Senanayake has been appointed the Chairman of the Technical Committee at the ongoing Asia Cup Cricket tournament held in Dubai and Sharjah.
Charith Panduka Senanayake is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and businessman who did ecxellent service in Kenya in the marketing field. He played in three Test matches and seven One Day Internationals from 1990 to 1991. He also served as manager of Sri Lanka national cricket team a few times and his service is highly appreciated by the SLC officials as well as the cricketers.
The very knowledgeable 59 year old cricketer one of the best product of the Ananda College Colombo who was a fine opening pair batsman.
At the moment he is giving his service to the Manager of the Sri Lanka’ A’ team.
At the recent time he was the technical committee member of the Lanka Premier League ( LPL ) having completed successful tournament.
The five-member Technical Committee of the current Asia Cup headed by Charith Senanayake while former Pakistan wicketkeeper Saleem Yousuf, Former Bangladesh Captain Naimur Hassan, Indian Ptathiv Patel and Afghanistan cricket chief selector Noor Malik are the other members of the Technical Committee of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The appointment of Charith Senanayake also great honour to Sri Lanka while two reputed Sri Lanka umpires Ruchira Palliyaguruge and Ravindra Wimalasiri are also part of the Asian Cricket cup Umpires panel.
