High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in New Delhi, Milinda Moragoda, together with the Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai, Dr D. Venkateshwaran, paid a courtesy call on M. K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on Saturday at the Chief Minister’s office in Chennai.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in New Delhi thanked the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the humanitarian assistance extended to Sri Lanka at this critical juncture. Ancient ethnic, cultural, and religious affinities between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, and a way forward to strengthen them, were discussed. Further, discussions were focused on enhancing cultural exchanges between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, as well as trade and investment promotions between the two countries as well. Chief Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Government Thiru Irai Anbu and several other key State officials were also present at the meeting.
