Chicken price reduced by Rs.100 a Kilo
The retail selling price of chicken was reduced by Rs. 100 per kilogram from midnight yesterday (21), the Trade, Commerce and Food Security Ministry said.
The decision for the price reduction of chicken was made at a special discussion held yesterday (21) regarding the reduction of the retail price of chicken, between the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security officials and Poultry producers.
The new retail price of a kilogram of chicken is Rs.1,150 after the reduction in price, where the previous selling price was Rs.1,250 till yesterday.
The initial plans were to negotiate with the Poultry producers and reduce the price per kilo of chicken by Rs.200 and if negotiations failed, immediate steps to be taken to import chicken to sell at a cheaper affordable price in order to provide relief for the consumers.
