After restricting their opponents for a modest 129 for nine, Oman raced to their target in style with their openers Aqib Ilyas and Jitinder Singh adding the finishing touches without being separated.
However, the match winner for Oman was their left-arm spinner Zeeshan Maqsood who ran through the PNG batting with a superb four-wicket haul and to claim the Player-of-the-Match Award.
Skipper Assad Vala was the only batsmen to impress for PNG as he hit a top score of 56 from 43 deliveries inclusive of three sixes and four boundaries. However, Oman made little work of their modest target as the openers Jitinder and Ilyas took their side home with 38 balls to spare.
The former was the more aggressive as he smashed 73 not out from 42 balls with the help of four sixes and seven boundaries. (Agencies)
