In a thrilling President’s Cup 2023 final organized by the City League Football Club, Colombo Football Club emerged victorious by defeating Maligawatte Youth Sports Club with a convincing 2-0 scoreline in the final match took place at the City League Football Complex, Slave Island yesterday.

With the spotlight firmly on the star striker, Mohommed Aakib, who not only secured the Player of the Final accolade but also lifted the Best Striker awards.

The first half of the game witnessed intense competition between the two teams, with both displaying exceptional skills and determination. However, it wasn’t until the 50th minute that Aakib managed to break the deadlock with a clinical finish, sending the Colombo FC fans into a frenzy.

Not content with a single goal, Mohommed Aakib continued to impress, relentlessly attacking the opposition’s defense. In the 64th minute, he once again found the back of the net, securing a brace and cementing his position as a standout performer on the pitch.

The victors, runners-up, and outstanding performers were honored with rich cash prizes and trophies.
