Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says that the Ministry of Education’s decision to hold the GCE Advanced Level examination without fully covering the syllabus is causing an injustice to the students.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Maskeliya Bala Mandalaya of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya at the DKW Cultural Hall in Hatton on Sunday.
He said the country was closed for an extensive period due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation with children’s education suffering a setback as a result. Premadasa went on to say that although online education continued for a certain period, some rural students could not follow the classes due to lack of facilities and money.
He said in this backdrop trying to hold examinations without completing the syllabus was an injustice to students.
