Constable arrested for assaulting wife

Negombo Police yesterday (16) arrested a Police Constable working in the Negombo Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau for assaulting his wife.

This attack took place on June 12. Police said that the wife of the police officer who was injured in the attack has been treated in Negombo hospital for two days.

The police officer’s wife told the police that her husband attacked her when she inquired about an extramarital affair he was having.

The arrested police constable was produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court and released on two personal bails of Rs.200,000 each.
