Contract killer dies in shootout with STF in Mahagama

A contract killer involved in a number of underworld crimes, including the death of an auto parts salesman in Niyandagala, Homagama, was killed in a shootout with

the police Special Task Force early yesterday (20). A 29-year-old man named Kasun Lakshita Silva has been killed. He is a former Navy deserter and was residing in Horampella, Mahagama. When a team of Special Task Force went to that house last Wednesday (19) in the middle of the night, he shot at the Special Task Force and tried to run away. Minuwangoda Police say that he attacked the Special Task Force with a T56 weapon and that weapon was found lying on the floor of the room where he was staying.
