Cop injured when trap-gun went off in a hooch raid in Wellawaya

A Police sergeant from a raiding party of officers of the Wellawaya Police has been admitted to the Wellawaya Hospital with injuries. They were in the act of raiding a den of illicit liquor, when a trap-gun had gone off, injuring him.

Wellawaya Police say that this incident took place when a group of their officers including Sub-Inspector Bandula, and the injured sergeant Dhammika, went to the reserve near the Buduruvagala temple for a raid on illicit liquor.
