Cop suspended for being drunk on duty

A Police officer assigned to the security of the Badulla Court Complex was suspended by the Assistant Superintendent of Police on Thursday (06) for being drunk while on duty. This officer had been assigned for duty at the Badulla Court Complex from 6 p.m. on April 5 to 6 a.m. yesterday (07).

 Police said that when the Badulla Police ASP had visited the Police post of the court complex on Thursday (06) night, the officer was found to be under the influence of liquor and was suspended after an examination by a Judicial Medical Officer.
