Couple caught with jewellery and cash

The Colombo South Crime Division arrested a couple at Seevali Road, Borella along with foreign currencies and gold jewelleries.
The male suspect along with one of his companions had break into a house on Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo 4 at dawn on June 24 and had stolen the money and jewellery.
The woman had worked as a housemaid in the house had provided all the information to her husband regarding the jewellery and the currencies, which had been brought by the daughter of the owner of the house for her wedding.
The suspects were residents of Kalinga Mawatha, Polhengoda. They had stolen gold worth of Rs. 1.2 million along with the money.
Investigations are continuing.
