Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday (13) ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to file a report with the Court immediately regarding the Rs.50 million found in the possession of a person in Mannar in relation to the case filed against Thilini Priyamali, owner of Thiko Group and Isuru Perera and Sirisumana Thera, under charges of criminal breach of trust, criminal misappropriation and other charges related to allegedly taking Rs.226 million from a businessman and not returning it.

The Magistrate made this order according to a notification made to Court by the lawyers including Maithri Gunaratne PC on behalf of the aggrieved party. The Magistrate asked the Criminal Investigation Department where the money was found and where the money was kept.

“If the money is found, it should be given to Court custody. Police have no power to keep money. The country knows what happened to the money found in the President’s House,” Maithri Gunaratne PC said and requested Court to call for a report on the money immediately.

When the case was called in open Court, suspects Thilini Priyamali and Borella Sirisumana Thera and other suspects appeared in Court.
