Court further remands Shiran Basik’s father

Abdul Razak Mohamed Basik, the father of alleged large-scale drug trafficker Shiran Basik, has been further remanded until October 08.

The order was issued when the case was taken up before the Colombo Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today (25).

The suspect was arrested on September 11 in connection with an ongoing investigation into the purchase of a luxury apartment in the Gampaha area registered under his name.

The property was allegedly purchased using Rs. 30 million earned through Shiran Basik’s drug trafficking operations.

The Central Crimes Investigation Bureau (CCIB) is conducting further investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
