Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis yesterday ordered the Land Registrar’s office prohibiting the sale or transfer of properties including spacious apartments and luxury hotels worth more than Rs. 90 million belonging to three board members of Onmax DT who allegedly engaged in illegal pyramid transactions. The Magistrate issued these orders to the Kandy plots of lands owned by Onmax DT directors Atula Sampath, Sami alias Prasanna Chaturanga Samarakoon and Saranga Jayanath.
In September, orders were issued by the court prohibiting sale or transfers of properties belonging to Sampath Sandaruwan who is also a director of the company.
The Magistrate had issued orders to the Land Registrar of Kalutara, Hambantota and Kadawatha prohibiting around 20 lands.
The Criminal Investigation Department had informed the court that eight plots of land belonging to the suspect were transferred to his wife and 12 plots to his friend on the same day.
