Court rules teledrama producer’s house maid was murdered

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekulawala ruled yesterday (25) that the death of the maid who worked at the home of teledrama producer Sudharma Netticumara was a murder caused by assault with a blunt weapon.

After hearing the witnesses called before the Court and examining the medical reports After hearing the witnesses called before the court and examining the medical reports of the High Court forensic doctor regarding the incident, the magistrate announced the verdict that the cause of death of the deceased woman was due to internal bleeding and shock as a result of damage to the muscles by a blunt weapon or force used.

Accordingly, the Additional Magistrate issued orders to the Criminal Investigation Department to immediately arrest the suspects who committed the murder and bring them to court.
