CP Tamil schools to get Monday holiday for Divali

Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage has instructed Central Province Education Ministry Secretary Menaka Herath to grant a holiday to all Tamil schools in the Central Province on Monday (13) as the Divali festival falls on Sunday (12).

Since Divali is celebrated on Sunday (12), teachers and students will not be attending schools on the following day, so the Provincial Education Directors of Central Province have decided to grant this holiday based on a request from the Governor.

The Governor has also given instructions that schools should be held on a weekend holiday for the holiday given that day.
