Customs detect 25 packs with narcotics sent by post
Sri Lanka Customs apprehended 2,193 pills containing methamphetamine called Ecstasy, 1,740 grams of Kush and 29g of Amphetamine worth around Rs.43 million.
These narcotics were discovered by Sri Lankan Customs officers in 25 packages that were halted for examination because they were suspected of containing narcotics substances.
These parcels were sent from Germany and England to addresses in Colombo, Maharagama, Battaramulla, Boralesgamuwa, Panadura, Moratuwa and Kandy. However, investigations have revealed that these were fake addresses.
These stocks of drugs are to be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
