Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) General Secretary Jeevan Thondaman has removed CWC Ambagamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha member Arulsami Joel Malcolm from party membership, following a disciplinary inquiry.
Party sources said that it has been revealed that Arulsami Joel Malcolm as a member of the Pradeshiya Sabha had allegedly allocated a land to several of his close associates, which was identified by the CWC to be distributed among the estate workers of Agra Oya and Weli-Oya through the Land Reforms Commission.
Investigation has also been revealed that the PS member had himself taken over a part of the land. A disciplinary inquiry had been carried out against him by the executive council of the party on the instructions of the CWC General Secretary.
Subsequent to this disciplinary inquiry, based on a decision made by the executive council, the Party General Secretary had informed him that his party membership has been revoked
CWC sources said that the Elections Commission chairman has already been informed about his removal from the party.
