De Mazenod emerge Under 17 Div. 1 cricket champs

De Mazenod College Kandana emerged champion for the first time of the Under 17 division One inter schools cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday.

Unbeaten De Mazenod College Kandana beat Prince of Wales College Moratuwa by 51 runs in the final played at ACE Capital stadium yesterday.

Thilak Waththuhewa President of Sri Lanka School Cricket Association and Principal of Royal College Colombo, Jagath Senarathne Vice President of Sri Lanka School Cricket Assoiation and Principal of P. De S. Kularathne College Ambalangoda, Rev. Bro. Janaka Fonseka, Director of De Mazenod College Kandana, Upul De Silva, Deputy Principal of Prince of Wales College Moratuwa, Moris De La Zylva coordinator of NDC in Sri Lanka Cricket, Y. Nishantha Kumara U19 Tournament Secretary of SLSCA and Malik Keerthi U17 Tournament Secretary of SLSCA participated in the awards ceremony.
